Requirements

  • At least 4 months before the start of the fellowship the applicant needs to have a license to practice as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Missouri.
  • Be able to pass all university required pre-screening testing, including background check and drug screening.

Applying

People interested in applying to the fellowship should send the following material to the contact address listed below.

  • Completed application form with copies of requested material (We are in the process of updating the form and will post it soon)
  • Current CV
  • An approximately 1-page personal statement describing why the applicant is interested in our training program and their long-term career goals.

The applicant should also arrange for either a recent faculty member or a recent supervisor to write a letter of recommendation and have it sent to the contact address below.

An application needs to be submitted in its entirety at least 5 months (Dec. 1 and June 1) before the desired start date.

Salary and Benefits

APP fellows are hired by the university into a 1-year trainee position.  Salary for the 2025-2026 year is set at $78,000.  The position is a staff position. As such the fellow receives benefits that are available to any staff member of the university.

Number of Trainees and Start Dates

The trainee program aims to hire two fellows per academic year, but each fellow starts on a different date.

For the 2025-2026 academic year one fellow will start on April 28, 2025 and the second fellow will start approximately 6 months later, on October 27, 2025.
