Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders
Research Interests
My research focuses on the mental health needs of women during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Specifically, I am interested in developing psychosocial interventions for perinatal depression that not only reduce depressive symptoms in mothers, but also help prevent adverse outcomes for infants. A central element of my work is examining intervention strategies that mitigate risk by strengthening social relationships. Another goal of my research is to understand how perinatal mental health interventions can be delivered to those at greatest risk by studying the implementation and dissemination of empirically supported care in community settings.
