Research Interests

I am a geriatric psychiatrist with broad research expertise and interests. My lab (https://websites.washu.edu/tbrain/) is dedicated to advance the understanding of healthy brain aging, neuropsychiatric, and neurodegenerative disorders using multi-omic approaches. Our projects combines multiple approaches, including clinical trials, biomarker development (wet lab), experimental medicine models (wet lab), and big data approaches (dry lab) to develop the next-generation of biomarkers to understand the intersection of serious mental illnesses, biological aging acceleration, and adverse psychiatric (e.g., response to treatment) and health outcomes (e.g., higher risk of dementia).
