Requirements
- At least 4 months before the start of the fellowship the applicant needs to have a license to practice as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Missouri.
- Be able to pass all university required pre-screening testing, including background check and drug screening.

- An approximately 1-page personal statement describing why the applicant is interested in our training program and their long-term career goals.
- Two letters of recommendation; A faculty member from your APP program who can comment on your academic ability and a recent physician supervisor who can comment on your clinical performance.
- Copies of all diplomas
- Current copy of malpractice insurance, if applicable
- Malpractice history, if applicable
- Listing of past practice locations, if applicable
- Copies of certificates, certificate numbers, and licenses, if available, or exam dates of
- American Nurses Credentialing Center
- National Commission on Certifications of Physicians Assistants
- Missouri license
- Missouri BNDD license
- Federal DEA license
Application materials need to be submitted in its entirety at least 5 months (Dec. 1 and June 1) before the desired start date.
Salary and Benefits
APP fellows are hired by the university into a 1-year trainee position. Salary for the 2025-2026 year is set at $78,000. The position is a staff position. As such the fellow receives benefits that are available to any staff member of the university.
Number of Trainees and Start Dates
The trainee program aims to hire two fellows per academic year, but each fellow starts on a different date.
For the 2025-2026 academic year one fellow will start on April 28, 2025 and the second fellow will start approximately 6 months later, on October 27, 2025.
