Research Interests
My primary research interest is the function and plasticity of GABA synapses in the mammalian hippocampus, a region critical for learning, memory, and susceptibility to disease. Specifically, I aim to elucidate the structure-activity relationships of neuroactive steroids in relation to GABAA receptors and beyond, with the goal of identifying potential drug candidates for neuropsychiatric diseases such as depression.
