Areas of Research Interests
Our research team is interested in the roles of genes and environment in alcohol and drug dependence. Much of our work is focused on alcoholism and heavy drinking in the general population. Major areas of current interest are (1) The role of alcohol and tobacco policy in influencing alcohol and other drug use. (2) The epidemiology and health consequences of heavy drinking within and outside of the context of alcohol dependence. (3) Molecular genetic underpinnings of alcoholism in the African American population.
