Areas of Research Interests
The goal of my research is to examine genetic and environmental influences on smoking behavior, particularly nicotine withdrawal and related conditions such as major depression. I am now working to develop an improved assessment of nicotine withdrawal, guided by findings from animal research and previous human research using interview and laboratory measures of symptoms of nicotine withdrawal; and then to apply these findings within treatment and genetic studies.
