Areas of Research Interests
Hippocampal LTP is studies as a memory mechanism to evaluate influences of development, aging and neuronal disorders such as hypoglycemia and anoxia. My interest is the functional role of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor, one of glutamate receptors, related to the participation of nitric oxide and arachidonic acids, in LTP induction.
I also study experimental neuropathology with brain slices and retinal preparations to examine relationship between excitotoxicity and energy deficiency.
