Areas of Research Interests
I am currently conducting an observational study of depression during the 6 months following hospitalization for acute coronary syndrome. I recently completed a clinical trial comparing two different treatments for depression after coronary artery bypass graft surgery, and a pilot study of cognitive behavior therapy for patients with heart failure. Proposed projects include a randomized trial of treatment for depression in heart failure, and a study of the effects of depression on cardiovascular outcomes in patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).
