Areas of Research Interest
My program of research focuses on the protective and risk factors that may affect adolescents’ participation in various health compromising, especially early participation in such behaviors. But instead of focusing solely on the negative behaviors, my program of research also investigates adolescents’ participation in health promotion behaviors. I also want to investigate these behaviors in adolescents who may be at high risk for engaging in health compromising behaviors, that is, children whose fathers are alcoholics and children whose fathers may abuse alcohol.
An additional interest is the role of religion and spirituality in adolescents’ behaviors.
