Dr. Alison Goate
Dr. Alison Goate joined the Department in 1992 as an associate professor of genetics in psychiatry. She received her doctoral degree from Oxford. She became a professor in 1998 and, in 2004, was named the Samuel and Mae S. Ludwig Professor of Genetics in Psychiatry. She is a leading expert in the molecular genetics of psychiatric and neurologic illnesses. Her work on the molecular genetics of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias has had major impact in this field.
